Mission of Mercy

The Michigan Dental Association Foundation’s Mission of Mercy program provides thousands of Michigan children and adults with much-needed dental treatment. In 2016, dental volunteers treated 968 patients and provided nearly $1 million worth of dental care to disadvantaged individuals — another example of dentistry’s commitment to access-to-care.

“Our member dentists, dental team members, and other volunteers worked their hearts out to help hundreds of people get access to dental services,” said Karen Burgess, MDA CEO/executive director. “In addition to the care provided onsite, we were successful in sending our message that dental health is important and that the dental community is committed to access for all.”
