As professionals, we're expected to be leaders...in the office, as health care providers, in our families, our communities and in the dental profession. All of us need to spend time developing our leadership abilities, skills that help us cope with the many demands we're faced with on a daily basis. Lloyd Carr will share lessons learned through his experiences as a leader and how teamwork plays an important role in accomplishing leadership goals.
In addition to his experiences as head football coach at the University of Michigan, Carr has been involved in many charitable causes that have shown him how to be inspired and how to inspire others. Leadership and teamwork together can create an environment where everyone can succeed.
About the speaker . . .

Mott Children's and Women's Hospital. He also serves as a spokesperson for Mentor Michigan to help recruit men and women to help children in need. He is involved with local charities such as the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Shelter Association of Washtenaw County, Washtenaw Literacy and United Way, and annually hosts the Hall of Fame football camp in his home town of Riverview.
He graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1968 with a B.S. in education and a Master's in education administration in 1970. He received an honorary degree from Albion College in 2008.

Michigan Dental Foundation Car Raffle
This year's Michigan Dental Association Foundation offers you a choice — the winner can choose one of three exciting prizes, including the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, a Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe motorcycle, or $18,000 cash. Only 400 tickets will be sold this year. Don't miss out on this big event. Proceeds from the raffle will be used for scholarships, access to care and oral health initiatives grants. The raffle drawing will take place Friday, April 16 during the MDA President's Event at the Sheraton Hotel Novi.
The all new Camaro is proof that awe-inspiring design, performance and efficiency can coexist-perfectly, offering an amazing 304hp and an EPA estimated 29 miles per gallon, plus a 3.6L dual overhead cam V6 engine. Direct injection and variable valve timing work to enhance combustion and breathing efficiency, respectively.
The Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe 96B engine is a twin-cam powerhouse that delivers massive torque from its 1584 cubic centimeters of fuel-injected displacement. With the nostalgic chrome tank console, full-length floorboards, straight shotgun exhaust and dual mufflers, it's a modern design with a distinctly classic style.
Second- and third-prizes of $1,000 and $500 will also be awarded. What a great way to donate to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation!
Tickets are now available online at the Foundation Web Site, or call Lori Kleinfelt at (800) 589-2632, ext. 406. Note: If all tickets are not sold the raffle reverts to a 40/60 raffle.
