Oral Appliances to Manage Sleep Disordered Breathing
Time: 9 a.m. – Noon
Fee: $95/DDS; $55/Staff
Seating Limit: 150
ONLINE REGISTRATION
This half-day program will provide the dentist and staff with a provocative look at sleep-disordered breathing and the role dentists and their staffs can play in its treatment. Sleep-disordered breathing (snoring and obstructive sleep apnea) affects tens of millions of Americans and is associated with medical co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and daytime sleepiness. In addition, it is also responsible for decreased quality of life, marital discord and increased risk of accidents on the highway and in the workplace. In any dental practice, between 15 and 20 percent of the patient population may suffer from this problem to some degree.
Today, dentists are in a unique position to partner with the medical community to save lives and increase quality of life for our patients. By utilizing thoroughly researched and FDA-approved oral appliances, the trained and experienced dentist can create and maintain a patent upper airway during sleep that allows for resolution of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
