The School of Dentistry

at the University of Detroit Mercy invites qualified private practitioners to partner with the School. Partnering providers would deliver maintenance care to support the School's pre-doctoral dental program patients for whom care has been completed. Annually, the School of Dentistry accepts over 6,000 new patients for comprehensive dental care who receive treatment in the pre-doctoral dental clinics. In the past, patients who were completed were referred to the private sector for follow-up dental care. In order to improve patient compliance and provide patients with a specific list of participating providers, the School of Dentistry is seeking partnering dental providers for maintenance care. Requirements of partnering practices include an agreement to accept pre-doctoral dental student fees for preventative, diagnostic, and basic restorative services for a period of one year from the date of referral. Partner practices will need to provide proof of professional liability insurance of $1M and must agree to accept the patient’s insurance if any. It is specifically agreed that there are no exchange of funds in recognition of this referral, and that the sole purpose of this agreement is to facilitate continued care of the UDM student clinic patients. Interested parties should contact Dr. Timothy Saunders, assistant dean for clinic administration at saundetr@udmercy.edu. Partnering providers will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement and a practice affiliation agreement prior to enrollment. Referrals will begin in June 2015.
