The Michigan Dental Association Foundation would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the Foundation’s Dodge Journey raffle. Because all 500 tickets were not sold, the contest converted to a 40/60 cash raffle. 

The prize drawing was held during the MDA Annual Session, with Michigan Dental Association President Dr. Joanne Dawley drawing the winning tickets. The lucky recipient of the first place prize was Dr. Larry Spillane, of Novi. He received a check in the amount of $12,600. The second-place prize of $1,000 went to Dr. John Carter, of Midland. The third-place prize of $500 went to Dr. Dan Rangel, of Grand Blanc.

Though just three individuals took home a cash prize, it can truly be said that everyone is a winner in the Foundation’s yearly raffle. That’s because all the money raised will go towards much-needed scholarships, access-to-care grants, and oral health initiatives right here in the great state of Michigan. In these difficult times, these funds allow the Foundation to help by contributing money to be used here for many MDA worthwhile causes, such as ensuring an ongoing supply of trained oral health professionals, and supporting programs that provide dental care for the underserved. 

Congratulations to all who participated in this great event. We’re looking forward to 2009, with another exciting car raffle to be held at next year’s MDA Annual Session at Rock Financial Showplace in Novi.
