The Michigan Dental Association Foundation is pleased to announce Community HealthCare Connections in Battle Creek, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, and TMG Dental Health Foundation in Farmington Hills as the 2011 recipients of the Dr. Matthew E. Uday Michigan Dental Association Foundation Access to Care/Oral Health Initiative grants.
This year’s recipients received a $5,000 grant to be used by the facility to provide access to care and oral health education to the underserved. Click on the organization names below to read more about them.
“All three organizations are serving Michigan residents, providing access to oral health care,” said Dr. Joan McGowan, chair of the Foundation’s Grant Administration Committee. “We commend their spirit and we’re happy to provide grants for them to continue their missions serving the undeserved.”
The Michigan Dental Association Foundation has given 18 grants in the last seven years, for a total of $90,000. The Access to Care/Oral Health Initiative grants are named in honor of Dr. Matthew Uday, who was a former member of the Foundation board of directors who passed away in December 2009.
