A donation to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation helps students receive scholarships, provides student dental relief services, provides under-served or underinsured people access to dental care, and improves the level of dental health education with the state of Michigan. While there is a plethora of charitable organizations vying for your hard-earned dollar, the Michigan Dental Association Foundation is about your profession — the dental profession. It's designed for dentists to help improve the status of dentistry and all its issues within the state of Michigan. There are numerous ways you can contribute to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation. The Michigan Dental Foundation offers a special giving opportunity for donors who wish to honor a friend or colleague with a contribution in their name. The Michigan Dental Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Michigan Dental Association. The funds will be used towards, Scholarships for Dental Professionals, Access to Care Programs and Oral Health Care Education programs all in the state of Michigan. A new program from D-MMEX, endorsed by the Michigan Dental Association, allows you to rid your practice of precious scrap metal while also financially helping the Michigan Dental Association Foundation.
Grant application for 2010 are now being considered, the Michigan Dental Association Foundation has announced.
Grants are available for both oral health education projects and access to care projects located in the state of Michigan. The deadline for submitting grant requests is June 1, 2010.
The next time somebody says that the dental profession needs to “do something” about access to care, you might want to mention the Michigan Dental Association Foundation.
When you hear people gripe that we’re not doing enough to promote oral health, feel free to mention the Michigan Dental Association Foundation again.
And when somebody complains that organized dentistry needs to “do something” about the high cost of dental education, be sure to remind them of the Michigan Dental Association Foundation, too.
